From the show: what Mike Greenberg said
10:23 I'm Mike Greenberg, the Maven of Morning Michigas, and this is Coleah Houdim, bringing you Jewish music from the classics to the cutting edge. We're on the air every Sunday morning from 6 to 10 a.m. on 1640, WJPR.com, Miami, Fort
10:46 Or if you prefer an app, fire up the Radio FX app and search for WBNY. We opened the program this morning with the traditional Elul Shofar blowing, followed by the Queen of Jewish Children's Music Ellen Allard and her classic Shofar Blast, followed by Elkhnon Schwartz with the sound of the Shofar and of Tali Kempe with the Elul Medli. Well, for the next few weeks, we'll be featuring the music of the Yamim No Raim, along with our usual assortment of morning mischegos from the classic Jewish songs you grew up singing to the cutting-edge sounds of today's incredible talent. Songs you'll be singing by lunchtime. We've got some great features coming up this morning. At 7 a.m. we put the pep in your step, the beat in your feet, and the groove in your move with the tons around the breakfast table. I'll provide the music, you provided dancing slippers, make sure though you clear a path around the table because we don't want you turving over your pet, your kid, or your spouse lest you unwillingly become the next viral video on Instagram or YouTube. Trust me, I've seen it. At 7.30 it's the Kul Gehudi mini-concert featuring the legendary diaspora Yeshiva band.
12:00 At 8 o'clock we head to Israel with Manganok Israel, a musical journey from the Kalu team to the modern day. This morning we're going to become remorating the yurt site of one of Israel's greatest composers, Yahya Rosenblum. The name may not be familiar to you, but trust me, the music definitely will be. At 8.30 it's Shirelihiti Anglip Erit, a well-known English language hit performed in Hebrew. Today we're not going to hold out for our heroes any longer. We'll hear a song by a very well-known Welsh singer who unfortunately and unexpectedly passed away last month at the age 75. Nine o'clock it's Abyssal Chazonas celebrating cantoral music from the golden age all the way to today's golden voices and we'll continue our focus on the filote of the Yameem Noorain. 9.30 it's Adonalam Shaleom featuring a unique rendition of Adonalam, maybe it's when you're ready know, maybe you'll be discovering it for the very first time. Definitely it's one you're going to be singing around the house later. So grab that first cup of coffee, or your second, or your third, you know the I woke up for slikhot and I'm not okay cup.
